The Simpson Strong-Tie HDU Holdown is a high-strength structural connector designed for shearwalls, braced-wall panels, and other lateral-force-resisting applications in wood construction. Engineered to provide a strong connection while simplifying installation, the HDU uses Strong-Drive SDS Heavy-Duty Connector screws instead of traditional stud bolts, helping reduce fastener slip while providing greater net section in the wood member.
The holdown features a predeflected seat designed to minimize deflection under load and is manufactured from durable 14-gauge steel with a G90 galvanized finish for added corrosion resistance. Strong-Drive SDS Heavy-Duty Connector screws are included with the holdown to ensure the proper fasteners are used during installation.
