The professional-grade foam core holds its block shape instead of crushing down in the hand, so pressure stays even across the face through repeated use. Premium aluminum oxide mineral at 320-grit puts these in the fine finishing range for smoothing drywall compound and sanding between paint or finish coats. The abrasive resists clogging, the sponge will not discolor the surface, and it can be rinsed out and reused.
