Post Cap for 4x6 Nominal Lumber, Galvanized BC

This post cap provides a positive connection for a post to a wood deck, offering strength superior to angled nailing or screw fastening. It reduces the risk of post splitting and eliminates nailing into the end grain. It is not recommended for non-top-supported installations like fences or unbraced carports. The nominal post size is 4x6. Made from 18-gauge steel and galvanized (G90) for extra corrosion resistance, it should be installed with 16d common nails or 16d x 2-1/2 in. joist hanger nails.
