About This Product
Sanding Sponge 4-1/2 in. x 8-1/2 in. x 1-2/3 in. for Joint Compound is a Wal-Board Tools wallboard joint compound sanding sponge, 4-1/2 in. x 8-1/2 in. x 1-2/3 in., built as a two-sided synthetic block. The white side is the aggressive abrasive face for cutting down joint compound; the yellow sponge side cleans and smooths the joint and wipes away residue, which is how you pull a professional feather finish at the edge of a taped seam. Run wet, it sands virtually dustless — the compound comes off as slurry into the sponge instead of into the air, which is the reason to reach for this over paper in an occupied space. The large hand-sized block covers ground quickly on butt joints and patches, and it rinses out and can be reused.
