Products FAQ

I don’t have a crew to unload the studs — what delivery type should I choose?

If you’re ordering lumber or steel studs and don’t have a crew on site, the Curbside or White Gloves options are best. Curbside includes unloading within five feet of the truck, while White Gloves brings the materials through the first doorway (up to 100 feet) and sets them inside ground-level spaces.

What is the difference between kiln‑dried and green lumber studs?

The process of heating kiln-dried studs removes moisture to create lightweight products that maintain dimensional stability. The material provides both resistance to warping and twisting as well as shrinking and improved workability together with pest protection. The manufacturing process of green lumber studs uses less energy yet produces material that is prone to warping or shrinking during the drying stage. The construction sector of Los Angeles prefers kiln-dried studs because they offer precise framing and dependable construction results.

Are lumber studs still a reliable choice compared with steel studs in modern construction?

Wood studs remain the preferred material for residential building projects because they provide affordable pricing together with easy cutting capabilities, fastening options, and extensive market availability. The material works effectively under moisture protection yet it will eventually warp, twist, or rot. Steel studs provide superior strength, straightness, and fire protection features, but require distinct fastening methods and cost more than wood studs. Homeowners in Los Angeles must base their decision between wood studs and steel studs on their budget limitations, together with performance requirements and specific project needs.
