The standard bolt works with standard nuts and washers that have the same thread pitch, grade, and finish. Grade 8 bolts possess greater strength and should be paired with Grade 8 nuts. An option for using hex bolts without nuts is to insert them directly into a compatible female threaded socket. They need either a pre-drilled hole or a pre-tapped hole with a matching female thread. Offered in a variety of materials, grades, and finishes.
