PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Hurricane ties are engineered to withstand strong winds and seismic activity by securely connecting trusses or rafters to the top of the wall of the building. The model is intended for nominal 2x lumber. This U-shaped hurricane tie allows for quicker installation compared to using two single-sided ties. The embossed areas enhance rigidity in key locations for better performance.
• Secures the rafter or truss on both sides for enhanced lateral load resistance
• Can be mounted on the inside or outside of the wall, or on both sides
• Can be installed with flanges directed either inward or outward
• Allows for quicker installation than utilizing two single-sided ties
• Constructed from 18-gauge steel
• Galvanized G90 for increased resistance to corrosion
• Install using eight 0.131 x 1-1/2 in. nails or eight #9 x 1-1/2 in. strong-drive SD screws
