This column cap uses Simpson Strong-Tie Strong-Drive SDS screws for faster installation and provides a greater net section area of the column compared to bolts. The SDS screws provide a lower profile compared to standard through bolts. Suitable for nominal 4x beam and 6x post sizes, it is made from 7-gauge steel with a Simpson Strong-Tie gray paint finish. Install with 1/4 in. x 2-1/2 in. Strong-Drive SDS Heavy-Duty Connector screws (included).
