This column base is shipped with the base plate assembled and provides a 1-inch standoff clearance required by code. The standoff base reduces the potential for decay at post and column ends. Suitable for nominal 4x6 columns, it is made from 12-gauge steel with a base of 10-gauge. Galvanized (G90) for extra corrosion resistance, it should be installed with 5/8 in. Dia machine bolts.
