This post base embeds in wet concrete after the pour and installs flush with the concrete surface. An embossment in the seat of the base provides increased strength, and stress relief holes under the base resist tearing during loading. It features a 1-inch standoff height, reducing the potential for decay at post and column ends. Suitable for nominal 4x4 posts, the base is made from 12-gauge steel, and the strap from 14-gauge steel with a ZMAX galvanization for extra corrosion resistance. Install with 16d common nails, #10 x 1-1/2 in. Strong-Drive SD screws, or 1/2 in. diameter machine bolts.
